Coimbatore is replete with the instance of long history of the establishment of renowned educational institutions and industrial establishments. There may be disparities in the facilities and opportunities of the people based on their economic background. Notwithstanding this, and with a view to giving an equal qualitative education to all, efforts had been undertaken by the department of education for the past 20 months to improve the infrastructure facilities of government schools on par with schools already enjoying these privileges. The data includes no of students, class rooms needed, class rooms to be repaired, class rooms in good condition, additional class rooms needed, accomplishment of lab facilities, equipments needed, drinking water facilities, toilet facilities, electrification, compound wall, cycle stand, number of trees for protection of environmental concerns, educational assistance like uniform, instruments box, note books etc, needed for the disadvantaged and the underprivileged. More over, it also includes particulars of student enrollments, percentage of passes of the schools in the past 5 years. A separate abstracts of the overall needs of the schools is furnished in the web. To collect a comprehensive data, 66 headmasters of 22 blocks were selected and given pragmatic training so that the data collected proves to be accurate and effective. 3.Sources provision for quality education is the essential ingredient which has to be acquired as a matter of fundamental right of our constitution. It is also the moral obligation of the government which is enshrined in the directive principles of the constitution. For the upgradation of the infrastructural amenities, sarva shiksha abiyan, AGAM thittam MP's & MLA's local area development program and NABARD have played a vital role to large extent. Even then the government is not in a position to meet out the entire requirement to the fullest satisfaction of the needs arising. Only with the integration of the goodwill of the people and philanthropists, this gigantic task can be cutout. To achieve and accomplish this end, all out efforts have been made and this has borne fruits in the form of the creation of a website. 4.Website Service and social organizations, alumni association and philanthropists ware identified and honored at a function organized by the district administration at government higher secondary schools, Ganapathy on 07.08.2007 in the gracious presence of our Honourable Education Minister, Government of Tamilnadu Thiru. THANGAM THENNARASU and Honourable Ministar for Rural Industries Thiru PONGALUR N.PALANISWAMY. Under the able and dynamic leadership and guidance of our Education Minister the social organizations and the business establishments have come forward to help the schools. It is worth mentioning the goal wishes of the secretary, school education department and directors of school education for their continued support and encouragement. The district collector Dr. NEERAJ MITHAL IAS is the personality behind this entire work. Their genuine service, moral and material support reflect the path leading to the successful accomplishment of the uphill task of reaching out the great demand focusing on the upgradation of almost all the schools in our district. Our website solicits the pleasure and presence of your goodwill and generosity for ever – for the upgradation and adoption of schools without proper basic amenities. Our website looks forward to your liberty in a global thought emerged – adoption of schools with magnanimity of the people with a great deal of humanism. On the basis of this principle the website has been created so that all details and requirements of the schools can be identified and supported accordingly. Every school has been accorded a password. At the district level the collector and Chief Educational Officer have also been assigned a separate password. The website has been created in such a way that the completion of the comprehensive data that is carved out. The site will be updated on the first day of every month.
